Practice needs to be very organized to get the most out of it. First make sure that you set up a practice station. Then have training aids that you can use to give feed back. That can be sticks or swim noodles or water bottles. Use sticks to train your perception of start line. Then practice like you play. Put time between shots. Do not be in a big hurray to just hit a lot of balls. Hit balls with a purpose not just for exercise.
