CHIPPING
With chipping, we begin to apply the concept of line-of-compression. It is about developing the impact between the club and the ball. You are not only learning the feel of impact, but how the club interacts with the ball. Chipping is about trajectory control. Chipping is the first step in creating a bigger arc and learning how to control the bottom of your swing. Maintaining this control is critical in the full swing. In addition to controlling the swing arc and impact, there is a face control component. Combining all of those components together allow us to start developing distance control (not only total distance but also carry distance).
