Mike Malaska has a Player Lesson with Javier Montoya. Javier has had problems shanking the ball or pulling the ball to the left with his irons and driver. Mike notices Javier tends to swing from the inside, and his clubface is open at impact. Mike works with a drill to lever the club and to get Javier to stand the club up on the backswing and the follow-through. Another thing Mike does to help Javier feel the club release upwards is by doing the Look Cool Drill. These few drills improve Javier’s swing dramatically.
